I'm making this film to get back to my filmmaker roots. It’s about stepping out of my comfort zone, taking risks, and putting art back at the forefront of my career.
Film Synopsis:
'Shuttered' is a psychological thriller that explores the boundaries of power, control, and the consequences of unbridled ambition. The story follows Joe, a 30-something, overworked rideshare driver and office worker who is relentlessly hustling in a world obsessed with "grinding" for success. Constantly listening to the motivational rants of a renowned social media influencer, Joe is determined to change his life by any means necessary.
After an unusual garage sale purchase, Joe stumbles upon an antique camera with an extraordinary ability: anything he photographs vanishes, only to reappear in a mysterious photo album. Initially using the camera to erase life's nuisances, Joe's growing obsession with the device leads him down a darker path. As the lines between ambition and morality blur, Joe’s struggle with his own insecurities, personal relationships, and inner demons reaches a chilling climax.
Shuttered is a modern-day parable on the pressures of self-improvement culture, the price of shortcuts, and how power can corrupt even the most ordinary lives.
